Scouting University is a merit badge college run by the members of the Alpha Epsilon Zeta Chapter of APO. The instructors are either professors or students who have the necessary qualifications for the particular badge. Scouts of all ages are welcome, but preference will be given to older Scouts for certain (Eagle required) merit badges. All Scouts will be supervised and escorted to and from their classrooms on the UTD campus by APO members. The scouts will be given their blue cards during class listing completed requirements, thus should know which requirements are left for them to complete on their own after the event. Any adults or Scout troop leaders are welcome to stay and help out at the event. Persons interested in teaching a merit badge course are invited to e-mail the Scouting U. Where: University of Texas at Dallas (MAP)

Student Union - Galaxy Rooms (SU 2.602). Parking is available in Lot J and Lot K.

Cost: $15 (Includes Event Patch)

Tentative List of Merit Badges: Class sizes will be limited, slots will be given on a first come, first serve basis. Scouts will have the opportunity to take one merit badge in the morning, and one in the afternoon.

Registration and fee: Registration will run until March 5, 2008. Fee- $15 nonrefundable. Includes class session, lunch, and event patch. Make checks payable to "AEZ Chapter of APO." Payment may either be mailed to APO or delivered upon arrival. ***WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!!!***

Please make sure that you have submitted ALL forms by mail or if you Registered Online and have not mailed BOTH signed forms, make sure to bring them with you on Saturday.

Note:All Scouts are expected to behave according to the Scout Oath and Law. In the spirit of courtesy and kindness to others, disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. In the event that a Scout is willfully disruptive, he will be asked to leave the class, his Scoutmaster will be contacted and he may not participate in subsequent Scouting University events. In this case, all credits toward his merit badge at Scouting University may be forfeited. In addition, all Scouts are responsible for making sure that the instructor gives them their blue card for badge requirements completed in class. Each scout should be sure to get the blue card BEFORE leaving. We will try to send out registration confirmations, but can not guarantee them. Show up to the event anyway and we will accommodate everyone the best that we can.
