Our big annual Trick or Treat for Canned Goods service project is happening today.
Every UTD organization is invited to participate in the 6th annual Trick-or-Treat for canned goods sponsored by Alpha Phi Omega. Each organization may enter teams of no more than eight people to compete for the most cans collected. Team sign up will be in the Student Union on October 20th through the 24th from 11am to 2pm. The actual trick-or-treat will be on October 31st from 5pm-7pm. Check in and bring the donations to the Activity Center's Auxiliary Gym. All donations will benefit the North Texas Food Bank. Come with your costumes and join in the fun! Title and prizes will be awarded to the team that gets the most cans.
We have been hard at work carving pumpkins and signing up other organizations to form teams and go collecting. Last year was a GREAT success; we collected 2807 cans for the local food bank and hope to improve to over 3000 cans this year.
This blog posting pertains to all Alumni, Associates, Advisors, Actives, Inactives, Pledges, and Honorary Members.
In hopes to get an electronic directory setup in a database, that we could then publish, and to have one common repository for all our members, I am asking for all members to send me their information. Hopefully, within a few semesters we can get this in a members only area on the website, and get it so that when someone's information changes, they can update it online.
We are trying to get our member history up to date. Please e-mail me the following information in the following format so that I can get it imported easily. For those who are familiar with it, I am trying to get a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file assembled, so that it can be imported easily into a wide variety of applications.
userID,Last Name,First Name,Middle Name,Nickname,Address Line 1,Address Line 2,City,State,Zip,Home,Cell,Work,Clan,E-mail,Status,Birthday,AIM,ICQ,MSN,Why Joined,Big Brother 1,Big Brother 2,Pledge Semester,Graduated Semester,Chapter Member Number, National Member Number,Website Address
If one does not apply to you, please leave it blank, and please do not put spaces in between the commas. If you wish to leave something out, you are free to do so, but we ask that you send all the information.
Please Note:
I would also strongly suggest, not putting the information in a comment under this post.

Steven
1) Halloween Bakesale: This Tuesday ~ Thursday, 11-3pm, at comet cafe.
The bakesale and TOT will share the same booth.
Think Halloween when making your bake goods and remember to wrap them individually.
Please write down the names and ingredients of your bake goods and bring those to the table.
For those who had not signed the food handler form this semester, please do so if you are baking or staying at the bakesale table.
2) Phone-a-thon: November 3rd, Monday. 6:30~9pm. Free food.
We'll be calling the UTD alumni for donations. Each organization will get $100 if we can provide 10 people on each night, and we'll get an additional $250 if we get the most pledges from the alumni.
Please please come out and help! We won last semester, and we can do it again!
3) Garage Sale: November 15th, Saturday. 8am~12pm. The profit will benefit Angel Tree.
Kristina has graciously offered her house in Plano. Big thanks to Her!
Start thinking what stuff you want to get rid of.
Please make a list of stuff that you want to donate and price each item.
More info coming up.

The pledge fellowship is going to be this Saturday, October the 25th. We will be leaving at 3:15pm from The Spot. If you are planning on meeting us at LaserQuest please e-mail me back, so I know not to wait for you.
Very important: Everyone who is going needs to bring $10.
Afterwards, we will head over to Navin's place for a Potluck BBQ.
Come out and join us for food, fun, Lasertag, and a chance to bond with your brothers.
The game schedule is as follows"

We are going to be having a meeting on updating the chapter's website. We are going to go over what content needs to be added, as well as discussing things that we would like to see in the future.
Some topics we will be discussing will be the requirements for the Alpha Phi Omega Cool Site Award, getting descriptions for all service projects we do, ideas on how to do service hours reporting and online directory, and other things.
Technical expertise not needed. This is the first meeting, so if you can't make it, but would still like to help, let me know, and I will come up with a better meeting time.
LFS,
Steven Proctor
I would like to thank everybody for their hard work at the 2003 Region VII Conference this past weekend. I had a lot of comments about how well it went. We could not have done it without your help. You guys are great. Faisal and I received many comments about how much everybody enjoyed it, and I hope all of you enjoyed it too.
If you are from another chapter and are reading this, we would like to thank you for coming. This wouldn't have been the success that it was without your attendance.
I also hope that those who were able to attend the workshop sessions were able to get some valuable information from them, and I hope that you can take that back to your chapter and share what you have learned.
If you have anything to add, I would love to see your comments. Please feel free to add some. I would love to hear what everybody thought, because while it was very stressful this past week, all the positive comments I have heard have made it worth it.
Also, big thanks to Chris Knight for getting the pictures from the slideshow online, and for all the other pictures that are coming soon.
Thanks so much,
In LFS,
Steven Proctor
